'Trees Intertwined' seeks to explore a common saying from my Mum about love, 'you can be two seperate trees but your branches will intertwine.' I have been told this phrase for a long period of time and I adore how it rewrites the idea of love. Often when partners meet, whether that be a friendship, romantic relationship or other connection there is an idea that the two become one and grow together. However, this concept seeks to suggest that when two people come together they are still their own unique, individual trees that allow their branches to intertwine as they build their relationship. The image itself features two abstracted trees and the whole work itself is a bundle of energy. The boarders around each tree creates this idea of the two seperate trees and then the branches expand throughout the page becoming intertwined. The work originally was produced on 600GSM paper with a Sharpie marker, it was then vectorised in Adobe Illustrator.
